Picked this up at auction a few years ago and held back, finally drunk this weekend as part of a special celebration with friends. Bottled before the updated very old tawny regulations, the "C" is to designate that this port would be a 100 year old tawny port. I remembered to take a brief tasting note and some photos (wanted to show the depth of colour, but excuse the terrible glasses!) given this is a new producer to the tasting notes.
TN: Perfectly integrated, unctuous, smooth. Rich velvety mouthfeel. Not too sweet, molasses / treacle, marmalade, long finish. Absolutely fantastic and appreciated by some port afficionados and those less familiar alike. The best tawny port I have ever tasted.
