W70, from RLC. Lovely red, 60% opaque. To taste plums, sweetness, lovely. At D+0 a little thin and short, but that repaired by by the passing of an hour. I thought it tasted far younger than its years, guessing DB87. AHB thought F66; THRA was the closest at D70. Unanimously WOTN.

Deep red colour, solid levels of pigment holding right into the rim. Looking fairly young, just reaching early maturity. Complex nose, sweet fruit with leather and damsons. Thick texture, full bodied with good palate presence. Tannins are near integrated, the acidity is lively but restrained and well balanced. The aftertaste and finish are big and very long, full of dry chocolate and plums. A very big wine. 91/100. Drunk 26 August 2010.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
