F70. Perfect dark red, 80% opaque. Taste of big plum and cherry fruit. A brief flash of tobacco. Big fruit to a very delayed end. Wonderful.

F70 generally thought to be the best wine on the table. (It might have been unanimous, but I cannot be sure of that detail.)

JDAW: ‟I think the ’70 was touched by God.”
DRT: ‟But he’s not having it back.”

Taylor Fladgate made 24,600 cases of this wine! Deep red centre, with just a touch of bricking; 90% opaque. Mulberry fruit all over the nose, very open and inviting. Sweet fruit on the palate, medium bodied and great texture. The fruit grows and allows the tannins to gently take hold, but then the fruit comes back and overcomes everything else. Huge finish, big fruit and massive finish - stunning port, monumental! 95/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
