FG88. Red-purple, 90% opaque. Some roughness. Big and cloying; too young. Big plum. Not really preferred. AB suggested ‟figgyness”.

Deep red colour which sticks to the glass when swirling; opaque and with little signs of maturity. Quite closed on the nose, but showing some faint sweet blackcurrant; medium bodied and with lots of fruit. A lovely fruit-driven aftertaste with lots of blueberry before a black chocolate finish of great length. Very tasty port; excellent value to hunt out.

(Note that 2 days later this port had lost its balance and become extremely acidic.) 90/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
