FG64. Wonderful red, 70% opaque. Nose had a lavender freshness. Almost a soap freshness. I even compared with other neighbour’s glass (of JGH), to test for a glass error, but his smelt the same. To taste heat, that same lavender, and cherry. Very different to those older, and thicker.

Very good.

Surprisingly deep red; 80% opaque. Rich and attractive nose, still showing plums as the main fruit! Dry entry, slightly tannic with youthful and concentrated fruit, still with surprising levels of sweet blackcurrant and vanilla. Amazing palate, really fresh. A big aftertaste; long, long duration of very sweet cherry - very intense. Simply a fabulous wine. 93/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
