Tasted at The Big Fortified Tasting, a trade fair in London at Glaziers Hall on Wed 06 April 2011 (Review thread, containing links to other tasting notes). This being a large trade-fair event, tasting notes generally brief.
2006 Offley LBV. Much more cloying and less drinkable than the 2005 Offley LBV.

Offley 2006 LBV
Very similar to the 2005 but much more tannic in the mouth. Felt rather closed; it may open to something very nice in a few years.

Quite closed on the nose. Soft and gentle entry, light bodied with reserved fruit and dominating tannins. Big finish of big length, but too tannic for my taste. 87/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
