1991 Churchill's vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mid red colour, some early maturity on the rim. Nosing of slightly rotten fruit and quite spirity. Smooth in the mouth, gently tannic and giving the impression of over-ripe fruit. More tannic than I remember from previous bottles. Chewy aftertaste, dark chocolate finish of good length. Better than I recall the bottles showing at TCP. 86/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
