The arrival of Wiseman #3 and Wiseman #−1

Re: The arrival of Wiseman #3 and Wiseman #”“1
Keen students of www.jdawiseman.com/author.html will have noticed mention of ‟Anastasia, born in … 2011”, and also that ‟The author … is soon to be the Head of UK Rates Strategy at Société Générale”. It seems appropriate to celebrate the arrival of Wiseman #3, and the arrival (in London) of Wiseman #−1. (If the children are #1, #2, and #3, then SCP-DFF must be #0, making me #−1.)
For this event I have devised a stellar new theme, which will surely meet with general approbation, and matching placemats. The placemats will be uploaded as soon as they have a filename, which will happen once there is a date. So we need to choose a date.
It seems likely that my new professional schedule will allow most Mondays and Tuesdays from 24th October until early December. Who would be available for which dates?

Congratz to JDAW!
Will you have a hand in starting Société Générale 's port wine fund seeing they have a bordeaux wine fund?

outstanding news, on both fronts. Will Wiseman -1 be available on Oct 11th to celebrate? As I shall be in London then. Otherwise I shall have to raise a toast from a remote location some hours later.

Congratulations on both counts
We raised a glass to you and your newborn in absentia when we heard the news last night at the offline and am sure will do so again in person.
Phil.
edit for dates:
- Oct 31, Nov 1 are both possible
- Nov 7,8 maybe
others between Oct24-early Dec not viable for me.

Does this mean that the 25th of October is your preferred date for this event?

To placemat or not to placemat, that is the question.jdaw1 wrote:For this event I have devised a stellar new theme, which will surely meet with general approbation, and matching placemats.
And this event is to have placemats. Therefore they must be different events.

I am not available on 24th October. 25th October is likely to be the Ronnie & Stevie offline given your preference for Tuesdays over Thursdays.
31 Oct and 1 Nov would work for me. As would 7, 8, 14, 21 and/or 22 Nov.
Later Mondays and Tuesdays in November and throughout December are unlikely to work for me.

I can't do 1 Nov. At this point Tuesday 8th is ideal for me as I have a meeting in London that afternoon.

Congratulations, Julian!
As with other tastings, I might have to wait until a little nearer to the time to confirm. All things being equal, however, I would, of course, be keen to attend.

In the absence of objection, indeed, in the absence of much acknowledgement of the question, let’s call it Tuesday 8th November. Placemats to be uploaded soon. Who’s in? JDAW. DRT. RAYC. AHB. Who else?

I can upgrade my "maybe" to a "probably" for the 8th. I might have to leave slightly earlier (around 10ish) as I will be unable to stay overnight in London due to commitments the following day - If that's all ok please include mePhilW wrote:Nov 7,8 maybe

Julian,
Congratulations (belatedly) on the arrival of child #3. You are a brave man. I am now convinced that the '3 are no more trouble than 2' arguement is propagated only by parents who have 3 children and wants others to share their pain!
I will not be able to commit to an 8th November date for a while, but shall make every attempt to be there if a place at the table remains available at a time I am able to committ. (I have a plan...!)

This being a school night, I propose to bring only one bottle with me - could I reserve the spiral star? This star does my eyes in when I'm sober so I am curious to know how it looks when I am less sober.jdaw1 wrote:Tuesday 8th November 2011 it is.

Unless you fancy trying a new place (always good), I'd suggest using TCP as the weather will be cooler and we've used the Steak Exchange a few times recently; happy anywhere without good port, food and company thoughjdaw1 wrote:Location: suggestions please.

Unless I'm missing something, we can only see the output pdf and distillation log, so can't see the contents of the Circlearrays variable except in consequence? Couldn't spot any consequential initials, but could have missed them (also noted the final sheet of decanting notes appears to be titled 'female'...). If not already assigned, I'll go for the 12 degree star? Those wishing to reserve specific circles may request same my initials can be found by examining the Circlearrays.

Can i take "Council of Europe" and "Chequered" please.
And before i turn up with the wrong bottle, is there a deeper meaning to the theme, or do i just bring along a port which is much-liked for one or other particular reason?

Worthy of mention is the Bunghole of 57 High Holborn WC1V 6DX (☎ +44 20 7831 8365), which has two private rooms (which can seat 4, and 8-10), and, as a backup, the out-of-the-way table 6 around which six could sit. The deputy manageress, Stephanie, seems very helpful.

For some reason, this thread has escaped my attention - congratulations on your expanding tribe!
Given that bonfire night is on a Saturday this year, I should be crawling out of the smoke and checking that I have the correct tally of fingers come the eighth..
..perhaps I'm being dim, but the detail of the theme escapes me - maybe create a new thingy for EFTA - the only bit of euro-cooperation that has ever made sense, and was, as it happens, founded on the day I was born..
..now then, which vintage shall I bring..
..hmmm!
