1963 Ferreira vintage port

Light in colour, a burnt orange. 20% opaque. Sweet cordial on the nose, full of rosemary spice. Sweet entry, with little fruit and a bit of heat showing. The fruit is quite faded, showing little more than soft brown sugar. Milky coffee on the afetrtaste, dry cheeks on the finish and a lovely nutmeg spiciness to the finish. The afteraste is long and elegant. 84/100. Drunk 13 October 2011.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
