Deep red, almost opaque purple. Violets on the nose, with lovely fruit. Balanced entry with lovely soft fruit that eventually allows the tannins to show - and they are big (but ripe)! Fabulous and huge finish. An amazing wine. 92/100. Drunk 13 October 2011.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
