1977 Taylor vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Warm red appearance, holding into the rim; 70% opaque. Hot on the nose, but with lovely rose-flower perfume. Sweet entry, with soft, sweet, jellied red fruit that shows itself before soft tannins and lots of nutmeg and heat make an appearance. Perfect levels of acidity. Dry aftertaste, initially dominated by tannins and heat. The aftertaste is long and lingering. 88/100. Drunk 13 October 2011.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
