TPF Crew,
I have recently realized that a number of colleagues are starting to develop an interest in vintage port. I am eager to encourage and nurture this development, and am planning on organizing a port tasting at NorthSquare in February to help complete the indoctrination.
No theme yet, but probably a mix of vintages and houses (e.g., if there are 12 guests, there might be 2 bottles each from 6 vintages). This way, every taster, experienced or not would be able to get a great feel for a range of cellar-worthy ports (by age, price, producer, etc).
So far, I'd guess we'll have:
1) Chris
2) Terry
3) Greg
4) Malda
5) Justin
6) Caryn
7) David
Who's with me?
A potential line up, for instance, could be:
1966
Warre
Quinta do Noval
1970
Croft
Gould Campbell
1977
Smith Woodhouse
Taylor
1980
Graham
Dow
1985
Fonseca
Graham
1994
Vesuvio
Niepoort

depending on the date (Wife's bday) and potential travel plans
i might be able to join you.
We could do a symington vs TFP by vintage side by side.
or in cases of split vintages, have like hte 91 dow's vs the 92 fonseca
oh and let me know if you need the contact for norths sq
