Rs91: dark dark red, 80% opaque. Nose full of young fruit. Weak start to the palate, with superficial fruit and dryness underneath. Tasted young.

Is the lightness, or at least non-fullness, characteristic of 1991?

Rs91...Dark red with a distict blackcurrant nose. Entry for me was quite thin and complex with a hint of bitter chocolate and moderate heat. The finish, although quite short, was probably the most pleasant part of this wine as it seemed to smooth out and give a spearmint aftertaste. Nice wine that will probably need a few more years to come good.

Deep red and opaque. Sweet blackcurrants leap out of the glass. Modest entry, hollow on the palate. Mid-palate has hints of sweet blueberries in the background with soft tannins and light acidity. Dry aftertaste and short finish dominated by bitter flavours of birch sap. Not a great wine to drink today. 80/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
