1963 Croft vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Rich red colour, palaing slightly on the rim. Spicy nose, lovely cinammon and nicotania nose over the top of super fruit. Sweet and wonderful balance on the palate. Gently spicy, nutmeg and mace over sweet rhubarb and cherry. Lovely texture. Long and lingering finish of milky coffee. 90/100. 10-Jun-12. 8½ hours decant.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Cr63 brick red, 50% opaque. Nosing of cherries. Taste of Tizer! Heat and cherry, but so reminiscent of childhood consumption of Tizer. JDAW.
