1955 Martinez vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Dolomore bottled. Burnished brick-red, crystal clear in the glass. On the nose, a touch of dusty raspberry. Sweet and focused entry, really attractive concentrated fruit, a big palate. Huge fruit aftertaste and finish. A tremendous port. 89/100. 13-Jun-12. Decanted 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!

Mz55: dark red, 50% opaque. Nose had red cherry, heat, and some tannin. But the mouth full of big dark fruit.
