Bright red, with a rose colour rim. Sparkling and lively on the nose, full of sour cherries. Sour cherry also dominates the palate, big and full in flavour. Gentle tannins and focusing acidity lies under the blanket of fruit. The aftertaste is dominated by the fruit, but also has some delightful floral elemenets in it, and is followed by a lovely red cherry and chocolate finish. 87/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
