1948 Graham Vintage Port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep mahogany red, 50% opaque. Mature on the nose with brown sugar, lots of nutmeg and a touch of tobacco. Brown sugar and caramelised pears on entry. Great balance on the palate but modest bodied. Big finish of burnt toffee apple and a huge length. Late acidity causes a burst of saliva and a great, long length. 97/100. Drunk 18-Jan-13.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
