My notes of the four samples:

Bottle marked "G63":
Evolved brownish red colour, 50% opaque. Strawberry on the nose. Lovely thick texture - fully mature with a nutty character. Delicious sweetness in the finish which is very long but hot. I would guess this to be a port from the 1960s, perhaps Taylor.

Bottle marked "D83":
Similar opacity to "G63" but more red. Lots of VA on the nose. Thick mouthful of horribleness. A flawed wine or a flawed bottle. Yuck!

Bottle marked "S67"
Again a similar colour but perhaps slightly darker than the first two. Dusty nose. Nice sweet cherry on the palate. Medium weight and fully mature, perhaps a little past its best but not by much. A very nice glass of port that is consistent with what was written on the lid, so my guess is Sandeman 1967.

Bottle marked "G50 VC07
Very dark. The bottle contained lots of dark sludge in the bottom. Extremely fresh raspberry smell on the nose. Very young and impenetrable on the palate but nothing harsh about it. I have no idea what this is.

Thank you for sending these.

I will now drink the first and second glasses to prime myself for an impending family celebration dinner.

G63 was actually Cr63. The others were as written.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Gentlemen,

Thank you all so much for coming out, and for sharing such wonderful port.

Especially, thank you Tom, for spotting me such an excellent bottle.
