1995 Quinta do Vesuvio Vintage Port

Post by ajfeather »

Prior to settling an overwhelmingly bitter aftertaste with a kick of mint at the beginning. After a day it settles a bit, nothing on the nose, honey initially followed by the mint and bitterness and a little heat. My least favoured vintage of vesuvio.

I experienced the same when having the 95 in the vertical Vesuvio-Tasting 3 weeks ago in Berlin.

I've only tasted this once so may have to dig another bottle out to try it again seeing these comments. Interesting as my experience was very different - I commented in my notes that this was fruity but with huge tannins.

Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
