I need you to feel that way. It will help when I have to apply for UK Citizenship if the vote goes the wrong way later this year :?

The moon is currently very close the the position of the sun in the sky so isn't photogenic unless you have some very expensive kit.

My webcam hasn't turned up yet. Which is a pity because it means I don't have it for what is happening right now.

I'm going to give you that. From 9pm until midnight Jupiter is at its closest point to Earth and the Sun, Earth and Jupiter are in alignment, in that order. It is known as Opposition and is the best time to view Jupiter from Earth, provided the sky is clear.

My completely inadequate photographic capability managed to take this shot a few minutes ago. The large smudge is Jupiter, the four small smudges are the moons Calisto, Ganymede, Io and Europa. Calisto, bottom left, is extremely faint in this picture.

  • A 1?@AT request: when a new page starts, please could somebody quote the question. That can be quoted with an answer, or could the be questioner doing so.

Those paying only intermittent attention often enough, I sometimes struggle to find the question, and a top-of-page reminder would assist.

    Thank you.

And yet this request makes no sense. Some of us follow the thread mostly on Tapatalk where we might have set the pagination differently. My page ends are not yours. Quite a few others do the same. I don't know where their page ends are. I reckon you just need to scroll backwards like everyone else, pardner.

I'm a nightowl. So if I had my way (and didn't have to spoil my day with work) I would regularily retire at 4 a.m. and only get up at noon and have breakfast.
What about you? Morning bird or nightowl?

No tasting, the motto for the 2013 Christmas holiday was "Taste as much port as you can" or "Taste examples of all the mayor SQVPs". I will add the Silval 99 (very, very good) and Croft 97 tomorrow.
By the way: what about my last answer? Is "drum" correct?

Timpani ?
The Silval 99 was really good and it was a bargain, too. The FG96 was good, too (despite what people say about that vintage). And the Cavadinha was great, too. The Cavadinha HB was really better than the sip I had from the standard bottle back in August at the Graham's Lodge.

I think you are deliberately trying to avoid getting the question.

I like the '96's, there is fruit in those tannins I tell you. Never tried a Silval.

I'm very bad at music. I always say, the only instrument I can play is the CD-Player.

Idiophone?

The Silval is similar to the Vau Vintage. A fruity VP to enjoy young. I like fruity wines.

One quiz at a time

Post by djewesbury »

Apologies for my silence. I will pose a question. In the meantime here is what became of my fallen tree today. The photos don't do it justice, I have a LOT of wood to split and cure and need to find out how to build a woodstack.
Getting this all sawed and shifted was 4 hours solid work for two of us. What should I buy the friend with the chainsaw who did most of the work? He's not a port drinker necessarily but is a keen maker of fine spirits. Any suggestions for rare and indulgent bottlings?
