A recap, since we're on a new page. The question:
What is known so far:PhilW wrote:I have just opened and decanted a bottle of port. I was surprised to find that the cork did not have the producer's name on it; I believe this is the only bottle younger than I where I have seen this; I am certain it is not a fake. What is it?
- It is not a VP, nor an SQVP
- It is not a Tawny
- It is bottled and shipped by a Portuguese producer
- It was purchased in the UK
- It is not from the '80s
- It is not Tuke Holdsworth, nor a Côtto
- It is not supermarket branded, nor a BOB
- I had never opened this port previously

Counting that as two questions (since probably helpful to do so, rather than just saying no):flash_uk wrote:I'm thinking a crusted port, from the 70s...
(i) Yes it is crusted, (ii) No, not from the 70s
Interestingly, I have two different 1973 crusted ports, and was intending to pick up a third at Sworders, but the bidding on them went waaaaaay over what I would have expected for that particular lot; which is a shame, as a mini-crusted-73-horizontal sometime seemed like quite a charming idea.

Re: One quiz at a time
Indeed it is/was. I was intending to provide a pic of the cork, but it was "tidied" and I can't find it (probably gone with the rubbish collection). There was no brand on the cork, only "Crusted Port" and "Bottled 1998" (or it may just have been "Crusted 1998", I can't remember exactly). Surprising to me that it did not have "Graham's" on the cork.djewesbury wrote:It's a Graham Crusted. Er, 98?

Re: One quiz at a time
This is indeed peculiar. I can't really remember what any I've had in the past have had branded on the cork.
