Df58, originally ε = epsilon. Orange-pink, 20% opaque. Nose of burnt plastic. Palate starts with heat, then more heat mid-palate. Then fades. Later the palate acquired perfume, lasting into the late-palate.
Delaforce 1958. Light brick colour. Very smooth flavour with the alcohol predominating. On the mouth is ripe, a bit of jam but overall balanced. It's does not have a lot of body but it is a lovely Port. My WOTN.
Warm mature red in colour, 20% opaque. Lifting and floral on the nose with the spirit quite pronounced. The thinnest textured of the '58s at this tasting, powerful palate with a strong acidity. Restrained dry fruit but stinging acidity. Lacking a good balance. The strong acidity dominates and distracts on the aftertaste but does provide for a huge and very lengthy finish. The finish is clearly the best feature of this port. Served blind this was guessed to be Dow. Epsilon. 89/100. Drunk 03-Jun-14. Decanted 3 hours.
