A village wine from the leading producer of the Rheingau (according to the Gault & Millau wine guide). The village name is Kiedrich (the "er" is the the genitive case)
Pale yellow, smells of melon and in the background a little bit of nutmeg, medium to full body, quite harsh in the mouth, not much acidity, in the mouth there is a sharp flavour of apricot and some minerality, too, sharp apricot in the aftertaste, a finish of good length ( at least 15 seconds), in my opinion this Riesling is a little bit too tart, a dash more of residual sugar would have been better for this wine in my humble opinion, [or it is simply too young (Rheingau wines tend to be tart in their youth)], the quality is ok but there are less known producers with similar quality that charge a third less, but I guess you simply have to pay a premium for the big name.
