2010 Ferreira LBV

Bottled 2014. Deep red with a medium width transparent rim and an opaque centre. Open and developed fruit nose, lovely and attractive. Smooth entry but with fierce and focused acidity. The grippy, ripe tannins support the exuberant fruit - fruit which leads on the finish but in a manner which is more restrained than on the palate. The length sweet blackcurrant finish is all the better for the restraint. Really nice LBV. 92/100. Tasted 05-Mar-15.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
