Tuesday 31st March - informal and blind
Re: Tuesday 31st March - informal and blind
Is Christopher also adopting do we know? I had left two bottles with Magnus as I wasn't sure about how one would turn out. I suggest we take the chance on the primary bottle and bring the other along as a backup and only open if required?

I don't know.flash_uk wrote:Is Christopher also adopting do we know?

Three bottles of 1965 were purchased specifically for this birthday and two others have been received as gifts this weekend. I still have a decade and a half of Kryptonite so am comfortable doing this, but thank you for the concern.jdaw1 wrote:Separately, is this sensible? If you feel that your health is so imperilled that a quintuple dose of immortality is required this year, then it is required this year. But if not, might this shorten the stocks of ’65 by four years — with the obviously detrimental consequences to your life expectancy?

There is a distinct possibility that this could turn into a six (or perhaps even five) man tasting with a ratio of two bottles per person. If it does I hereby serve notice that approximately half of each bottle of 1965 might be taken home to be shared with family over the following few days. This will only happen if we end up with too much port.PopulusTremula wrote:Attendees:

Placemats updated.
Magnus: even under the best of circumstances, my Swedish plurals can be irregular. After some sparkles, some left-over Rioja, some left-over Croft 2004 LBV, and some newly decanted Offley LBV 2007, they can be downright unusual. Please check the central header.

I would amend the bracketed section to "och Dereks fem från '65"jdaw1 wrote:Placemats updated.

Scallops starter and main of a steak (medium rare; rib eye preferred but sirloin if no rib eye available), thin chips and mixed peas and beans.
I have a bottle I planned to bring but I am now uncertain whether I should do so. Please can I have an instruction as to whether I should bring a bottle, adopt a 1965 or just turn up.

Indeed I am very annoyed to miss this, having finally managed to get things sorted and probably able to attend a tasting (again, finally) and then... I can't. Had contacted Magnus and happy for him to explain reason to group, but don't want to post publicly about it.

I have curled the apostrophe: “och Dereks fem från ’65”. If this is wrong, I’ll change it.PopulusTremula wrote:I would amend the bracketed section to "och Dereks fem från '65"

Re: Tuesday 31st March - informal and blind
My flight back from Amsterdam is now delayed by 80 minutes, new planned arrival time into City is 1845,so all being well I'll get to the B&F around 1915. Ordinarily I'd be annoyed at the delay, but seeing as over 50% of flights out have been cancelled, I'll be grateful if the delay is only 80 mins! I'll drop someone a text just before take off to confirm timing.
Re: Tuesday 31st March - informal and blind
Good luck.
