1986 Smith Woodhouse LBV (unfiltered)
Bottle matured, bottled in 1990. Mature brick-red in colour. Gentle nose of sweet fruit, raisins and strawberries. Sweet and smooth entry, gentle fruit on the palate but with a core of rhubarb acidity. Powerful rhubarb on the late palate, fresh and lively giving a lovely mid-weight impression. A little thin on the aftertaste but a flavoursome and delicious finish that is driven by the rhubarb acidity. Rather delicious, with some power and lots of acidity. Very pleasant port. 88/100. May 2015.
