1963 Gould Campbell

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature red appearance. Nosing of mature port - sweet fruit and gentle spices. Wonderful sweetness on the palate, full of raisins and sultanas and cherries but always infused with a touch of nutmeg. Wonderful layering with flavour after flavour flooding across the palate. Great balance and elegance leading into the aftertaste and a long, sweet fruity finish. Dirk Niepoort described this as "a bit of alright". 93/100. 4 hours double decanted. May 2015.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
