In Streatham, on Saturday 30th January 2016, Mr and Mrs Gandhi were the guests of Mr and Mrs Wiseman, as was Mrs W’s brother.

GM87, decanted 2pm. Dark red, 80% opaque. Lots of black fruit. Bigger than the GM86, slightly higher-toned (mint? eucalyptus?), but like its slightly older brother, needing another decade to soften the fruit and tune the balance. A very well made Port that should have been declared.

The extra two days has been too much for the GM87. Still a lovely drink, with mid-sweetness plums, and a hint of mocha-esque bitterness mid-palate. But slightly simpler, and less powerful.
