Hi Uncle Tom,

I just agreed with Ronnie and you are welcome to join... Space is not the problem.

I don't preferences for the Port, I assume you know best what Port would fit best in this tasting!

Great - I'll double decant something, and then re-cork it for the flight.

Will also need directions, and somewhere to crash out for the night.

Uncle Tom,

I'll send you a PM with the directions.

A place to crash won't be large problem, Ronnie and AHB argued for the favours of having KillerB on their room, so I assume there must be a place somewhere... :D

Till Wednesday,

Joost

Are placemats wanted? If yes, please post a list of ports and of people, mentioning which of the former was provided by which of the latter.

Stevie,

I sent you a pm re. my Christies stash.

I'll bring a Delaforce unless anyone has a strong preference for something else.

I'm staying in the Park Plaza, unfortunately in a room with a double-bed as they were out of twin bedrooms.

The Gould Campbell (from me) and the Offley Boa Vista (for Rubby) have both been safely checked in to the flight to Amsterdam, which leaves in a few minutes time.

See you all on Wednesday night.

Despite a bit of a rush for the plane caused by being distracted by TPF, I am now safely in Holland and appear to have two intact bottles in my bag.

Working out my logistics, I shall be flying into Schipol at 14.10, and my plan is to get a taxi to Christies warehouse (which is not far from the airport) and then carry on with my stash of 41 bottles to Utrecht in the cab.

This presents the opportunity for us to open one of the Passadouro '97's to see what it's like :D

Alex has kindly offered to take six of the remaining bottles home for me, and using my extra baggage allowance that comes with a Star Alliance card, I should be able to take 24 bottles without suffering an excess baggage charge.

StevieCage says he would like six bottles, so that leaves me with 4 to find homes for.

If anyone is driving, and can save me the cab fare, they are more than welcome to them!

I have cheeses. I don't have dirty great round of Stilton (stop crying Stevie) but have several other local delicacies plus a good cheddar and summat else.

:D Very excited about this.. from most shippers I haven't even had a VP yet!

Question: what time are we expected? I'll be arriving in Utrecht around 6:30.

That's at the train station. If someone needs a walk to Mr. Joost's place, I'd be happy to accompany you. I'm going past the Park Plaza hotel as well.

A collection of cheeses is in the fridge, and we're about to go into town to get some more! See you all this evening! :)

Rubby,

The party begins at around 6 or 7pm...

But earlier entrance is not any problem.

Joost

No! They should be at room temperature, or at least at cellar temperature. Take out the cheeses!

No way! They will be served at the end of the evening and will be taken out of the fridge beginning of the evening! Otherwise they'll be walking off the table by themselves.

Perfect. Put a fence around them so they can’t walk too far, and you’re all set.

Mine are currently smelling out baggage control at Brum. I can just imagine the baggage controllers all pointing fingers at each other.

Should be in Utrecht by 6:30 and will wander around aimlessly until I stumble along Joost's house. I have phone numbers just in case
