PCs were really useless at managing graphics in their early days, so when Macs came along with the ability to efficiently manage images without taking an age to do so, all those of an artistic disposition jumped ship.

And until Mr Gates found his philanthropic side, his shameless pursuit of personal wealth got up the noses of many on the left of the political spectrum.

Why is it though, after all the stratospheric increases in memory and processing capacity in PCs, I still find myself staring at an hourglass for just as long, and having to reboot just as often, as I did 15 years ago?

This is an essential question. My current laptop is much, much faster than the one I had until last year. I edited long films on that machine; all I do on this one is make PowerPoint documents. And yet it is ten times slower.

Feuerheerd would be interesting. A mag of SW will be as black as treacle and should be marked "don't open for 20 years". That mark will apply equally now and in 20 years from now.

Houston, we have a problem! Just tried to open and decant the G70 before going into work and no purchase-the seal seemed intact but the cork's obviously dropped into the wine. Bit of bottle stink and so I'm taking no chances and switching to a Ck70, if that's ok-although not much time to stand it beforehand? Appreciate that this will likely mess up the placemats-sorry!

Separately, bringing 1970s to a 1983 Horizontal was not quite the original plan though we could always make space for an extra bottle or few.

Two of them are your, and you might know more about their condition (if storage might have been poor, then you might prefer later). Failing a contrary consensus, I was thinking of about 2pm.

Wine Society a new release. Roeda from Nickolls, believed recent release. Personally I would err toward a more generous decant by perhaps 2 hours. Your call. Your ChAA has had poor storage so 2pm is probably a good call.

I plan to decant all six bottles around 2.00pm...then I will be in London for around 5.00pm...if anyone would like to join me for a pre-match beer let me know.

There was space in my bottle carrying bag so I have packed two bottles of claret that will or will not be opened with dinner depending on demand.
