Please could there be more enthusiasm for the pre-ordering of food? The
current draft of the food order has requests from only three people. So please do peruse
the B&F’s menu of fine nourishment, select, and post in this thread that selection.

Could bring something from Charles' birth year, or when she got married, or bottled in the year she was born - or something else entirely.... ??

How about this one:
Very pale green glass bottle, colour of wine within good for age and looks healthy with lumpy free floating sediment, level TS
Label reads 'Offley full port, matured, rather dry'
Old slip label round neck reads 'Anno 1924'
A reciprocal gift from Simon Lisle in the early days of TPF - whatever became of him??

Good news. Mother in law will be around so social conflict with wife resolved. More good news-I seem to have 3 bottles of Dow 60 in my new cellar so one of them will have its stay cut short!
Food: truffle Mac & cheese followed by gammon with black pudding please.
Thank you.

Excellent. We have a Dow-1960-versus-Dow-1960 head-to-head. And obvious updates to the placemats done.

Excellent. Obvious updates to
the food order done. To which I have also added a guess that Tom will have soup and medium-rare steak.

I hope to be on time but may be 30 mins late (flight arrives at Heathrow 16.30). In terms of port, I need to speak to Wolfgang to see whether i have any nice bottles lurking in his cellar (and whether he would be willing to open / decant / bring for me....)

Checked:
- Derek has asked for skinny (french) fries, but is listed as hand-cut chips
- Ian has asked for a side of peas & beans, which is missing
- Tom's and Christopher's are unchecked as they are not in-thread, I assume received directly
- I assume you have checked your own, similarly
- Mike does not appear in the menu order, but had specified an order (being shrimps, sirloin(rare) and side of peas & beans); I note that he is listed in attendance as "maybe" so unsure of status.
- Also, I would suggest that the formatting of "Chargrilled sirloin steak (black & blue) with skinny fries and grilled tomato" would be clearer than the current "Chargrilled sirloin steak with skinny fries and grilled tomato (black & blue)"

Graham 1955 and Dow 1955: if I were to arrive at 4pm and decant then, would that be sufficiently early?

I would think so. They will probably not need a long decant and if they do they can sit in the glass for a while.

take it gracefully; for me the Grahams 55 is the classiest pop and pour you can do (even done once after after a Dow 27 in an emergency). It does not matter anyway since all Grahams 55 I had so far was on that great tasting plateau it does not care anymore; it is just great with long decant or without!
And I know you live forever anyway like Dorian Gray with the picture as long as you get every year that bt of 65 SQVP.

You can always ask them to hand cut your chips to a very thin size. After all, they are hand cut so presumably can be hand cut to order.
