First draft of the placemats.
- Executive decisions have been made about what AHB and RAYC are bringing, and what DRT is adopting from me. Please verify or correct.

I'm assuming the draft was prepared before Christopher voiced his intention to join us.jdaw1 wrote:First draft of the placemats.

RO70? Is this the Carvalhas that won wine of the night in April last year?
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Did you incorporate the fact that I'm left-handed into the placemats?jdaw1 wrote:First draft of the placemats.

Excellent! I'll amend the first post.Christopher wrote:Please count me in, I can bring a Fonseca 70.
Re: London 15 May - 1970 tasting
And, this evening, I’ll fix the placemats to add Christopher and mirror Ronnie.

I really don’t like the uneven heights of the digits in ‟1970” presumably mis-typset lower-case digits.
Re: London 15 May - 1970 tasting
Updated draft of the placemats.
- Ronnie left’d;
- +CMAG and +F70;
- RLC’s bottle still undecided.
Re: London 15 May - 1970 tasting
Alex: I now have a W70 in London, as well as D70 and RO70. Derek could adopt the W70, and he and I jointly bring the RO70.
But only if you have something other than Warre that you could bring. Do you?
Or we could just suffer the hardship of a second Warre 1970.

THRA is in and has declared Graham.
If felt necessary, this would be a nice occasion for me to bring the RO Carvahlas (gifted to me last year very generously by THRA) to taste alongside the regular RO.

I have reviewed and am happy to approve - but could we have the psychedelic lines in colour just to really make the eyes ache?jdaw1 wrote:Please could somebody review and approve?
Who will print? I can print if I do so tomorrow but will not be able to print on Tuesday.

Re: London 15 May - 1970 tasting
My contribution will be a Sandeman '70 and if there is no objection I would like to invite Sandy to join us and he will contribute an OBV'70.
Hope that is acceptable to all.

I like the lines. I don't want them zapped.jdaw1 wrote:(If you want the lines zapped, say so clearly.)
But I want them in colour for maximum impact!

I second that.AHB wrote:I like the lines. I don't want them zapped.jdaw1 wrote:(If you want the lines zapped, say so clearly.)

As a compromise: how about coloured lines, printed in black and white?

Re: London 15 May - 1970 tasting
Lines look good with four glasses per page. Not so much with five or six. Hence zapped.
Do you want to have three pages, each of four glasses? That starts to use a lot of table space.

Re: London 15 May - 1970 tasting
hmmm....three pages seems unnecessary....i do like the squiggly lines though - how about you re-insert them in white so they are less obvious?jdaw1 wrote:Lines look good with four glasses per page. Not so much with five or six. Hence zapped.

Graham, Sandeman, Offley and Taylor (late request from AHB) now double decanted and re-corked.
Our guest tonight has the initials NDS but is always known as Sandy - very sound company!

Is pre-port beer at The Old Nick or at Penderel’s Oak?
