Re: Wed 1st May 2019, Broadbent Port, at the B&F
I would prefer not to reveal as mine is a novelty as much as (hopefully) pleasant drinking.
And it allows me to change my mind at the last minute.

Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Two more slots. Volunteers?
Re: Wed 1st May 2019, Broadbent Port, at the B&F
I would like to still come along, but until I move to Dorset cash flow is all tied up, so I would need to not have the dinner and just contribute to service. If that is okay, then I could offer a Niepoort 2005 as a comparison bottle or find something older if prefered. If you would rather have the space for a full participant, I totally understand and free up my seat.
Re: Wed 1st May 2019, Broadbent Port, at the B&F
I can bring a GC83.
Re: Wed 1st May 2019, Broadbent Port, at the B&F
More than happy to bring something along, how about a Passadouro 92 or 00 or if preferred a Ni 00?
Re: Wed 1st May 2019, Broadbent Port, at the B&F
Thank you. Yes please.
The Passadouro 1992 please.
You’re in. No need for the Niepoort 2005, but if you have a spare Niepoort that matches the vintages of one of the Broadbents I would accept that.Doggett wrote: ↑08:36 Sun 07 Apr 2019I would like to still come along, but until I move to Dorset cash flow is all tied up, so I would need to not have the dinner and just contribute to service. We have enough. One more, either a Ni matching a Bb, or something with age, would be welcome but is not necessary.

I should be able to print the placemats, but will also not be super early (I don't think, at the moment).
Please could I have no starter, sirloin steak (medium rare) with a bearnaise sauce.
What's a gratin potato and can I have chips instead?

We hope this will not cause any problems and that we can cancel our participation. We hope you have a very nice tasting.

Please may my choices, below, be added to the food order:
Starter - none.
Main - Gammon with everything including black pudding. Chips are preferred to skinny fries.
Savoury - the “Super extra cheesy plus plus more cheesy Welsh rarebit”, if possible.
Thanks,

It is still uncertain as to whether I can attend, and not looking positive; suggest you move me to reserve and I will add at last minute if able.
Wrong starter; but probably irrelevant if I can't make it.jdaw1 wrote: ↑22:41 Sun 21 Apr 2019 Food order updated.

If there is space may I join? If not happy to go onto the reserve list and await a last minute space.
Re: Wed 1st May 2019, Broadbent Port, at the B&F
Both the food order and the placemats have been updated.
Re: Wed 1st May 2019, Broadbent Port, at the B&F
I hope to be there at about 17.30 following a Zac handover. I had hoped to be earlier to be able to help set up, but if there are last minute duties I should be there to assist.

Please remind me, am I bringing an extra bottle? Am I bringing my bottle of Broadbent 1994?

I might be able to get there for about 4.30/5.
Re: Wed 1st May 2019, Broadbent Port, at the B&F
My bottle of Passadouro 92 is at the B&F as I will be travelling on Wednesday, I was planning to ask B&F to decant in the morning unless others disagree or would prefer to decant it latter with the others?

Message from Bartholomew Broadbent to members of TPF attending tomorrow's tasting:
Bartholomew Broadbent wrote:I’m looking forward to the Broadbent Port Tasting tomorrow. Tomorrow happens to be the first day that my father’s new book, Wine Tasting goes on sale. I have the opportunity to pick up copies of them tonight. They are 25 pounds each. Would any of you want to buy it? If so, I could bring them to the tasting. You’d need to bring cash or a cheque. Let me know at bbroadbent@broadbent.com I look forward to seeing you. Bartholomew
Re: Wed 1st May 2019, Broadbent Port, at the B&F
Alex I can print if needed. I should get there by about 4.30. Drop a message here if that’s needed. Cheers.

I'm OK. I remembered to print - and I remembered to over-ride the standard printer setting we have here of 2-sheets per page, double sided.

But we also have a bonus bottle not on the tasting sheet - Irayna is bringing a bottle with her, one which she is quite pleased to have been able to hunt down and share with us. Teasers or spoilers people?

Is it a bottle that went missing from the cellar years ago... I can’t remember what it was but I think a 55 of some sort? Or a NN63 Mr Davy wanted us to enjoy?
Re: Wed 1st May 2019, Broadbent Port, at the B&F
Or a jeroboam of the Graham’s 1982 single harvest which should be enough to sate our thirst!

Or perhaps a Tregnum of Sandeman 1955?
No, none of those.
