Hi. I am already planning to bring a 1991 (will need someone else to decant) and I think we agreed Tuesday that someone would provide a 1985 (please confirm). That takes us to 17 bottles and I believe there is one other old bottle to be added. If we could find another one I think it would be a well priced 1963 or 1975.

So, that is a long way of saying we have the 1991 and, whilst the 1995 could be a great addition (and is a port I really like), it is possible it misses the cut.

Feels like an appropriate post against which to recollect my now imfamous post 😂

I suspect we have very little between us pre 1977…

Rarely in human history has a chap been so wrong as was flash_uk in that post...

I have high hopes for this tasting. I am very grateful that, due to the multiple kindnesses of others, I will be able to attend it.

Martin, Harry and Alex have very kindly donated a Ramos Pinto 1926 to the tasting. Thank you gents. That is very generous.

I doubt there have been many Ramos Pinto tastings this complete.

Now just waiting for someone to re post Mike’s early post!

had a look - currently missing the '85 and '97, which takes us to 20 bottles.

...and think Tony is still to declare?

There are 19 bottles bolded on post 1.

Tony is still to declare. This would take us to 20.

The differences between post 1 and the placements are that the placemats are missing 85 and 97 but also include 91, which is not bolded as I feel it is a bottle too many once Tony declares (plus is not supposed to be great!).

One for the organiser....

Ramos Pinto purchased Bom Retiro in 1919; however, I have a bottle of 1887 Bom Retiro (Garrafeira) which I would like to contribute to the event. It comes from the family stocks of the former owners — is this OK?

If not - I will have to try to reclaim one of the adoption bottles that I passed to others for this tasting - so in effect this is a bonus bottle...

I know the placemats will change due to the addition of the 1887, but shouldn't the '94 and '97 be flipped for consistency's sake?

EDIT: Or is the '94 an Ervamoira and thus separated from the regular VP's?

Please, the JDAW-MPM chateaubriand is, rather than rare, actually blue, and actually in italics (though oblique would be reluctantly acceptable — your browser might do its own thing).
