Julian, thanks for all the last-minute changes on this.
I think, with 5 of us, we should all fit in the Board Room and have enough glasses so there’s no need to worry about these things. See you all later!

Thanks a lot again for your help/efforts. Indeed AHB is driving to the cricket match; I would have never thought doing something like this (cannot drink any beer, cider etc.) but I am sure this is what people do
regards

Doing better is unlikely. I believe that no TNs were taken.

By anybody? Confirm that nobody recorded for future generations their impressions of Dalva 1934 bottled 1973; nobody wrote a comment on Warre 1986 bottled 2007; there was nothing to say about Barão de Vilar 20Y tawny. Wow and, if so, shameful.

Hi Julian,
it has to be said that as far as I witnessed there were no official tasting notes taken. Since it was just a warm up in the beginning nobody was paying attention to this detail. But I remember quite a range of coments to each of the wines.
The evening was a big success since we had a wide range of vintages and tastes. It was really fun! The Dalva 1934 was for me the wine of the night due to its complexity! There were some rough edges due to acidity and the funny shapped bt slighty leaking. Overall the Warre 1986 Colheita bt in 2007 was the best wine all round but lacked a bit complexity.
Just also realised that i have somewhere another bt of the 1986 Colheita from Warre; so when you are next in London we can try to sneak it in.
regards

At the very least please post something to tell us what wines were drunk and very roughly what people thought of them.
Shame on you for not taking even basic notes. Am I the only UK resident member of the port forum who takes my responsibilities to posterity seriously?
And - thank you for asking - I thoroughly enjoyed taking my 17 year-old daughter and her boyfriend of 15 months to their first ever cricket match, which started on time, was played in front of a 70% capacity crowd of about 20,000 and was not affected by the weather in any way. Much fun was had and many cups of tea were drunk. This was followed by a fish and chip supper at The Sea Shell on Lissom Grove, which I believe to be London's finest fish and chip restaurant and an easy drive home. I was tucked up in bed at 11:40pm after having watched an extremely entertaining Question Time that should have been entitled "Bash the Murdochs" Time.

To forestall further criticism, TN threads have been created. Jazzy links will follow, in due course (not this afternoon...)

Quite close and therefore nicely exciting. Certainly worth missing the occasional port tasting to be able to attend.
