Re: Mon 16 January 2012, The Bunghole
Whoops! I overlooked the fact that JDAW has adopted half of CMAG's mag.
This means that if we want to include the 1977 vintage in the line up then RAYC's suggestion of a group adoption of the 1982 from WS and RAYC contributing the '77 would be a pleasing way to arrange things? Any comments?

Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Hi there,
I forgot, that I also have the 1980 da Roeda which could be added. Also OK if you want to group adopt the 1982.

Cr1977 acquired - many thanks to Tom A for generously supplying: the first of a new case!AHB wrote:Whoops! I overlooked the fact that JDAW has adopted half of CMAG's mag.

First draft of the placemats.
- List of ports probably wrong.
- Even more likely to be wrong are the names attached to each bottle.
Re: Mon 16 January 2012, The Bunghole
I would like to attend if possible but slightly confused as to theme so if there is space for me could I please adopt something nice...or at least be told what to bring.
Re: Mon 16 January 2012, The Bunghole
Glad you can join us. A Croft 1869 will do nicely.Cookie wrote:I would like to attend if possible but slightly confused as to theme so if there is space for me could I please adopt something nice...or at least be told what to bring.

It would be a pleasure to see you again and you're welcome to attend (but note the change of venue).Cookie wrote:I would like to attend if possible but slightly confused as to theme so if there is space for me could I please adopt something nice...or at least be told what to bring.
The theme is Croft and while an 1869 would be perfect, the alternative would be for you to adopt on the night the 1982 from Wolfgang that would otherwise become a group adoption. Of course, if you prefer to bring something not already on the list below, you are free to do so but please let us know.
1960 - BMHR
1963 - AHB
1966 - WS
1970 - CMAG / JDAW
1975 - DRT
1977 - RAYC
1982 - RLC

Building work has progressed enough for me to delve into my 'cellar' and establish it is a Croft 1966. That and the Roeda 1967 or 1983 are my only possible options. Would an adjudicator care to advise.
Looking forward to this.

Could you clarify what the '83 is please? Is this a Roeda '83? If so, I've never tried it and would love to give it a go.

Re: Mon 16 January 2012, The Bunghole
Sorry for the late notice, but might I be able to attend on Monday? I’m afraid I will have to adopt because I have certain problems carrying around a bottle of decanted Port at the moment!Perhaps I could adopt the bottle that Ben decides not to bring?

After a salt-tastic fry-up, I’m now starting my first pint of water.
Re: Mon 16 January 2012, The Bunghole
The 1975 and 2000 have now been decanted. One is very dark and youthful, the other mature beyond its years. I'm going to keep you guessing about which is which

I am reliably informed that a Beer Emergency has been declared at Weatherspoon's, directly opposite TBH.

My beer emergency will probably remain such! Southern trains and LU permitting I shall see you at TBH around 6pm. Should the beer emergency not be over by then, please send 999 to SMS!
