Plenty on the shelves at the Henley Tesco - I must admit my initial impression on half a glass last night was that this was VERY young and raw, though I will reserve judgement until tonight/tomorrow to give it time to air.

Half price offer runs until 22.11.11, at least at Henley

I wish we had Tesco. My local QFC only gives a 10% discount if you buy 6 and 15% if you buy 12 or more. I think that applies all the time, though.

Thanks RAYC - latest purchase is 12 Dow's Master Blend.

QFC? 15% is a good discount.

Quality Food Centers, which are now part of the Kroger empire.

15% sounds like a good discount, but at QFC you're starting 5-10% above average. They used to be worth the extra cost, but have gone downhill (IMO) since Kroger bought them.

6 bottles of Sainsbury Taste the Difference 2003 VP (bottled by SFE) @ £13.12 each
6 bottles of Graham's Malvedos 1999 @ £15 each.

Sainsbury currently have both of the above on special offer with an additional 25% off for buying 6 or more bottles. They have lots of other styles that are on similarly attractive offers. Go now!!!!

I followed my own advice and bought the same again today, plus some more for someone else.

They also have Graham Crusted, bottled 2003, reduced to £13 per bottle with a further reduction of 25% if you buy 6 or more. I resisted as I was more interested in the VPs.

The Cruz LBV 2004 on the same shelf didn't look like great value in this company at £14 per bottle :?

Warre's 2006 LBV at £6.99 in Morrisons. Rather heavy and unsubtle on initial drinking but after the first couple of glasses it was better. Uncertain whether that was its contact with air or my contact with port.

That's a nice UK price. I was over in Borough market and there were some wine vendors there hawking it at 70/bottle. That said, i was rather amused to see 30 y.o. vintage port being sold out of the OWC in a street market.

I'm pretty sure it must have been a pricing error - it just does not make any sense in the context of the prices of other ports on their list...or the last time i purchased a bottle of Dow 83 from them (£40ish in early 2010 i believe, but their prices seem to have gone up a lot since then)

Very interesting...i hope this is not a sign that their delayed-release unfiltered is on its way out - the 2001 in Waitrose at the moment is rather good.

Warre have always made both a filtered and traditional LBV - both are pretty good but I prefer the unfiltered version. I'm assuming that this is a filtered LBV, but thought I'd ask in case there was a change in the release strategy for the traditional LBV.

I have just visited Morrisons with the intention of clearing their shelves of this wine. Unfortunately, the vast quantity of Warre LBV 2006 that is on display there at £6.99 per bottle is the standard filtered LBV, not the "Bottle Matured" LBV that was once known as "Traditional". :crying:

There is quite a lot of bottles on there at the moment, though mostly over-priced, especially considering lack of provenance etc; Has been a while since I had a good ebay bargain. Wish I'd caught the Sainsbury deal for the 99 Malvedos though...

I acquired one of the Graham verticals during the most recent FTLOP purchasing opportunity. The price was high, but the bottles were all purchased on release and kept in the cellar at a California winery for their entire lives so I thought... just this once... I'll overpay for known good storage.

14 bottles, starting with '63 and ending with '07.

I got this one for £53, which I'm happy with as that's much cheaper than the other four I bought about three years ago. As you might know, 1965 VP is essential to my continued existence and the real cost of this bottle works out at just under £1.02 per week 88)

There are quite a few bottles on there at the moment but they won't all reach the end of the auction before some nerd at eBay zaps them for having a comma in the wrong place in the description
