Du11 (aka ‘¶’), tasted late in the evening because so young, and hence I forgot to take a formal note. Big, silky, rich: seemingly very well put together indeed.

The following evening some remnants were drunk. Lots of structure, acidity and tannin, perhaps even to the extent of causing it to appear slightly dry. Behind was dark plum fruit, a mite closed by the 24 hour gap. Needs lots of cellar time.

Deep red, opaque but for the narrow rim. Restrained on the nose, still showing lots of delicious purple fruit with bramble and blackberry dominating over young green wood. Neutral entry, a soft palate with languid blackcurrant and powerful tannins. The rich blackcurrant fruit is dominant on the mid palate and well focused, powerful and long lasting. There is fierce acidity on the aftertaste with lots of lively and sprightly fruit on the finish, which fades quickly to leave an everlasting chewy tannin-based blackcurrant-skin flavour. Pretty darn impressive youthful port. 92/100.
