What are you drinking now?

I'm bored tonight, no DIY to do and all the household admin is up to date so I'm resorting to doing the housekeeping on my PC.

To help, I have a glass of port by my left hand - Morgan '91 (which is a superb quality for a House Port).

That left me wondering what my fellow portophiles have in their glasses tonight?

Marks & Sparks LBV.

Again, I would have to say, good house Port. On balance, I'd rather have your Morgans. But I'm happy enough. :D

Coffee - Nestcafe instant with milk, no sugar

the Dow's LBV I sunk last night has left a very bad taste and a strange fuzzy feeling in my head. I am hoping the coffee will help

Would that be the Dow 2001 LBV @ £5 a bottle in Tesco?

Have a filthy cold, so senses compromised - am drinking up the FG88.

It seems too young and rather bland - but I'm not in a position to give it a fair hearing!

Yes, that's the one. I unexpectedly sunk a whole bottle of it from the fridge last night and I have to say it is not something I would recommend to others to try

Does anyone else find that the higher the quality of port you drink the less likely you are to have a hangover the next day?

It's what you have in the morning before you've drunk enough coffee!

You can sleep when you're dead!

(Or when you're at an Off-Line, in certain cases :D)

I can attest that after getting drunk on 2 bottles of red, 2 bottles of champagne, 3 pints and a bottle of grahams 83 ..

that the hang over seems to correlate with how much i drink as oppose to what I drink =)

Although Alex asked the specific question, 'What are you drinking tonight?', I suspect this thread could also show what 'ordinary' Ports we drink.
In that vein, I'm drinking M&S's finest reserve. It harks back to their recent 30% off weekend, and its keeping me happy for the moment. The bottle of Chards before, probably blunted my taste buds, but it's still pleasant.

Since we're continuing this thread from my night or boredom, right now I have just finished a glass of Spier Shiraz (from the Spier vineyard in Stellenbosch) and now I'm enjoying another glass of the Vesuvio '92 that I opened a few days ago while watching Time Team and catching up on postings over the weekend.

Look out for the update on the '92 Vesuvio tasting note shortly.

I'm visiting family for the holidays right now. I have a friend coming over in a few minutes so we're going to be having a Dow's Quinta do Bomfim 1992. It's very dark in the decanter, and quite delicious.

Not proud of myself, but yesterday was the usual drunken haze!

Bucks Fizz in the morning.
Baileys mid-morning.
Chablis, Cabernet Sauvignon Dinner
Boddingtons Draught Few cans post lunch.
Marsdens Bitter couple of bottles. Boredom.
M&S Finest Reserve, late Turkey Butty
That Taylor's 98 we all got cheap into the night
Whisky & Lemonade, now just being silly
Took last can of Boddingtons to bed, because I was thirsty!!!

No Tasting Note for the Taylor's. I think the label was white!

  Alan

I'm staying off it today. (Well at least until the sun is over the yardarm!)
