Hi Guys, I have one bottle of 1947 Constantino's vintage port that I would like to sell, The bottle was my recently deceased Grandfathers and was found along with a few other bottles lying in one of the drawers in his spare bedroom, I have no idea how long they have been there but I'm guessing quite some years.
I have very little knowledge of Port but having looked on the internet I have seen the same bottle retailing between £335 & £370 per bottle I don't know if this is an accurate figure or not so please correct me if it's not. I also realise that this is not a retail outlet so I am open to any reasonable offer. I live quite close to Derby UK but can arrange shipping if required. I have attached photographs so please let me know if I can give anymore information.
On a separate note there was also a bottle of Adam's Old Monk Port Lodge 5 and a bottle of Taylors 1998 late bottled vintage which again I know very little about so any information regarding their value and collectability would be very much appreciated, or even make me an offer lol.

Re: For Sale 1947 Constantino's Vintage port
Thanks for posting the images - it is always very helpful in responding. The retail price for such a bottle assuming it is in good condition is probably in the right region, however please note that as a private seller your expectation should be to achieve roughly half that amount (please see our standard advice to sellers for details if you have not already read this). You'll be aware that storage in a cupboard draw is less than ideal due to the likely temperature fluctuations and potentially low humidity. A primary concern to any buyer will be to know the level of the liquid within the bottle, which I could not tell from the images posted; a back-lit image showing the level would be very helpful, as would an image of the capsule (i.e. from above) to show its condition.Andy1971 wrote:Hi Guys, I have one bottle of 1947 Constantino's vintage port that I would like to sell, The bottle was my recently deceased Grandfathers and was found along with a few other bottles lying in one of the drawers in his spare bedroom, I have no idea how long they have been there but I'm guessing quite some years.

The Taylors 98 LBV is worth very little, you might get a tenner for it; the Adams I don't know; it looks like a basic tawny which would make it low value, so it may only really have curiosity value, unless anyone else knows better.Andy1971 wrote:On a separate note there was also a bottle of Adam's Old Monk Port Lodge 5 and a bottle of Taylors 1998 late bottled vintage which again I know very little about so any information regarding their value and collectability would be very much appreciated, or even make me an offer lol.

Thanks for the comments and information its much appreciated, the level is very good and I will take your advice and add a picture this evening which shows the level, as I said I am not expecting the retail price and I am open to a reasonable offer for the bottle. In regards to the Taylors and Old Monk I think going on what you have said regarding value and collectability I will keep these two bottle open them at xmas and have a toast to my Granddad
