1985 Andresen
1985 Andresen
Thirty years after harvest we held a small horizontal of 1985s.
Re: 1985 Andresen
Noon. Cork loose. Managed to get the corkscrew in, and the top two-thirds came out but the last third crumbled. Paler in colour than the others, and (very small) decanter priming sample show more acidity than ideal. Let us hope it improves.
Re: 1985 Andresen
A85, decanted noon. Red-red-brown, 30% opaque. Nose mostly dry, with a hint of artificial sweetener. Palate light, throughout. Dry mid-palate. Pleasant, but drink up.
Re: 1985 Andresen
A85 Very pleasant port, but not anything special. Some tawnying and caramels. Possibly an early ager and ready to drink up now. 87 points

Re: 1985 Andresen
The colour of polished redwood, 40% opaque. Attractive nose, of gently spiced stewed plums. Smooth entry, nice texture and enveloping flavours. Limited fruit with plenty of maturity but nice levels of acidity. Great balance on the palate with a nice blend of fresh fruit and leather overtones. Fragrant and pleasant if a little light. 86/100.

30% opacity, orange brown. Nose of oranges. Clean palate, sweet, slight heat, very smooth, oranges. Slightly lightweight though and lacking any tannin.
