Ni57 Colheita. Very brown and clouded. Should have been decanted the night before to clear the sediment before bringing to the B&F rather than just the 4 hours. Lovely caramels and nuts on the taste. A lovely glass, but could have been so much more. 90 points

A sample courtesy of Simon Doggett. Bottling date not known. A deep honey-brown colour with an olive green rim. Powerful nose of ground pistachio, petrol and black treacle. Acidity dominates the entry, gentle fruit flavours with dates and raisins. Powerful grapefruit acidity and a lime zest bitterness to the long finish. This has a nice balance and plenty of flavour but is missing something. 88/100.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!

This is normally a rocking great port. Bummer it didn't show better.

I have just checked the bottle, and this particular Ni 57 Colheita was bottled in 1970.

Brown, with green rim. Rich palate dominated by aniseed.
