Hello again New Yorkers,
Let's do it all over again. I'm over for ten days at Easter, and last May's tasting in Chelsea was so wonderful that I'm moved to suggest we hold another tasting in the same restaurant. My dates are the 24th March to the 2nd April though obviously Easter weekend itself is in the middle of that and may not work for everyone.
Who's in?
Daniel

Great. Any dates that definitely DON'T work for you, from Fri 25th March [Good Friday] to Fri 1st April, inclusive (that excludes the dates on which I fly)?

Last time it was atonal music. What's the betting it will be something like "Phenomenology and the Etruscans" this time?

Owen, I wish you'd get on a plane from the Somersets and join us. Your thematic skills would be so welcome.
No thoughts of a theme yet. Any ideas?

Arranging a tasting in NY is already difficult enough. An easier theme might lighten you of one obstacle.

Indeed,
I have a few leaky bottles that need to be drunk as it's making the charcuterie in my cellar smell sweeter than it should be!
Now for just time and location =)
Give me a price range people.

Sadly, I think probably not. Luckily New York tastings are rarely ever "full" so if something serendipitous happens I may try to join you later.

April 1 would be a good date----Friday but if the consensus says during the week so be it.
Price range...$100-$140 (at least that's what I think what we did at The Palm a few years back).
Theme: Agree. Make it easy. How about anything pre 1990?

What did we end up paying in that place in Chelsea..? I liked that, who was it that booked it?

By the way, one of the true greats of atonal music died today. Let's all raise a glass to Pierre Boulez.

I need an excuse to open one of my 1994 Fonsecas since I have had them since release and I have never tasted it, and my wife hates port so we do not drink it at home. This could be an excuse.
