35% opacity, red-brown. Quite hot, in the mouth some tree sap - cedar. This was quite different to the sample tasted at the 2015 BFT, which was much more fine and elegant.

A bicentenary release bottle. Mature burnished copper colour, 50% opaque. Smelly and reductive on the nose, unpleasant. Bottle stink flavours dominate the initial impact on the palate. There is a little fruit on the mid-palate and some soft caramel with kumquat dominating the end of the finish. Not rated.

Ck77 A limited edition release of this previously not declared/realeased '77 vintage. I didn't like this port until the very end of the night where the bottle stink had calmed a lot. There was some eculyptus on the first taste but this was also affected by whatever spoiled this port with the smell. Subsequent discussions have suggested that maybe it requires a few years to settle down after the recorking of these special bottles.

Ck77, decanted 06:30. Lovely red, 50% opaque. Palate of red cherries, strawberries. Good size. Mike said “cedar”, correctly. Some heat mid palate.
