1974 Barros Colheita (bottled 2016)

Bottled 2016. Fragrant nose, pale brown with a pink rim; 15% opaque. Sweet nose, with lots of bruised apple. Sweet on entry with apples and brown sugar. A lovely mid palate, well balanced by clean acidity. The soft apple flavours persist throughout the palate; the late palate is delicious. Sweet finish that is slightly unbalanced. 86/100. Tasted 02-Mar-16.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
