2009 Quinta do Crasto

10-12,000 bottles made. Deep carmine in colour with a narrow rim. Very pronounced nose of blueberries and sweet fruit with lots of flower perfume. Gentle, lazy fruit on entry, bringing a mix of red- and blackcurrants. Gentle tannins support the acidity in providing a nice focus. An elegant style of port which works well. 90/100. Tasted 02-Mar-16.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
