For a while Feuerheerd and Bom Retiro had some sort of relationship.
I’ve failed to make the previous sentence more specific — whilst still being accurate, of course. Please, do any readers have sources that can do better?

http://www.vintageport.se/house/Feuerheerd.php mention the use of grapes from Quinta do Bom Retiro by Feuerheed during the 19th century; I suggest you ask for their source.
Elsewhere, Bom Retiro is mentioned as being independently owned by Luís Beleza (early 18thC) and later "Extended in the 18th century by Luís Beleza de Andrade, one of the founders of the Pombaline Companhia Geral da Agricultura das Vinhas do Alto Douro" (I believe another name for Real Companhia Velha), and "bought in 1919 by Casa Ramos Pinto" (both quotes from RP website).

I am sure this is of no help, and you have reread this, but Dom Symington references Bom Retiro in this previous

post.

EDIT: DRT's post may also shed some light on the source of the Bom Retiro and Feuerheerd connection.
