From Ramos Pinto. Deep red, opaque. Rich and full on the nose with ripe but balanced fruit and a lovely fragrance. The richness and perfumed qualities carry into the palate, where it also shows gentle tannins. This is a sweetly fruity wine with a lingering finish. Overall a little lacking in acidity to merit a top score, but a very enjoyable and easy to drink glass of wine. 86/100, which is where I scored the 1995 vintage when I had that last year.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.
2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
