How does Weds 12 October sound for a get-together at the usual venue? Any takers? Was thinking of a theme along the lines of Seventy or Seventy Seven.

When: 18h30 on Wednesday 12th October 2016

Fantastic. A quorum was already in place, but now I don't have to drink aloneCPR 1 wrote:Works good for me

Meant to say "are you going to the port walk in November?"

Sadly I can't make 12 October. I'll be elsewhere in the world that week.

Re: Wednesday 12th October 2016
I'm up for this. Would prefer 1970 to 1977 on the grounds that I have more variety of the former and that there is more strength in depth across the vintage. However, I'll go with the consensus.
Re: Wednesday 12th October 2016
I think my theme title has caused confusion. I meant that the theme permits bringing a '70 or a '77.
Re: Wednesday 12th October 2016
Why don't we make this a blind tasting as there are not so many of us and the guessing won't take too long!
Re: Wednesday 12th October 2016
Sounds good to me

I might be able to attend this, perhaps late, perhaps with guest. (And apologies for the lack of certainty.)

Hi
Would you mind if I went way off-piste on this?
I have just acquired 6 bottles of 1933 ?????? vintage port , the glass is to dark to read the cork so there is only one decent thing to do to identify this (open in good company!). There are only a few shippers for this year.
I can bring a 70/77 as back up.

Off-piste is great! I'll include a suitable slot on the placemats.forest26 wrote:Hi

The Green Room has been booked at the B&F.
Re: Wednesday 12th October 2016, '70 or '77 blind
It is about time I treated myself to an evening out so please could you add me to the list.

Re: Wednesday 12th October 2016, '70 or '77 blind
As I'm travelling on Tuesday and Wednesday and only back into London in time for our tasting, I plan to drop my bottles off at the B&F today and will see if the good people on duty on Wednesday can undertake the decanting on my behalf at a suitable time.
Re: Wednesday 12th October 2016, '70 or '77 blind
I can print place mats if that helps?
Re: Wednesday 12th October 2016, '70 or '77 blind
Thanks Charles, I should be OK with that though. Will stop off via the office from Euston to get rid of my bag and can print then. Should get to B&F for 6-ish.CPR 1 wrote:I can print place mats if that helps?

Bottles deposited at the B&F this afternoon. Just need to send through instructions on Wednesday morning about which bottles to decantflash_uk wrote:As I'm travelling on Tuesday and Wednesday and only back into London in time for our tasting, I plan to drop my bottles off at the B&F today and will see if the good people on duty on Wednesday can undertake the decanting on my behalf at a suitable time.
