Orange, 20% opaque — not a joy to behold. Palate very soft and lovely, being much fuller than its colour. Heat mid-palate. Very very dry late-palate. Drink up — soon.

Believed to be SW63 at time of purchase, but proven to be SW66 by the cork.
Soft to taste with light toffee, some acidity; not perfectly in balance, but enjoyable.

Originally purchased as "Believed Smith Woodhouse 1963" the cork revealed this to be Smith Woodhouse 1966. Tawny brown in colour, looking like a 20 year old tawny, 40% opaque. Oxidised nose, flat and lifeless. Some bruised apples on entry, soft and full of brown sugar. On the mid-palate this shows a little roasted coffee bean and caramel. Brown apple juice dominates the aftertaste before a coffee bean and burnt sugar finish that has good length. Sadly a compromised bottle. 82/100. Decanted 3½ hours.
